FlaringK is god and Cerulean Snake is Jesus

Over the past few days ever since making my first post where I talk about hosting webcomics I’ve been slowly trying to set something up for it, and Snake has come to my rescue.

I knew practically since the site got launched that Snake had a self hosted mirror of their comic, I never quite looked into how it worked but I assumed it worked the way I thought it worked and it did, and I wanted that for myself too. The site uses FlaringK's MSPFA Viewer which is a template/script/thing that helps you mirror things you’ve hosted on MSPFA previously, simple enough.

But BOY. 😂 (Oh wow look Windows finally fixed emoji search) Was it hard to get up and running to me!! Snake has been practically holding my hand through the process, and honestly I think that’s what I needed to truly understand how making a website and digging into the CSS and HTML works, and JavaScript and all that stuff too, previously I had tried with tutorials but when you do that you can’t ask for feedback or anything, here I’d be asking the questions and getting the answers and asking for help and getting the solutions, better yet being told how to change things and where to put them thus helping me familiarize myself with how all of it works.

Minus the part where they gave me a script for randomized banners, I know how to change the image and make it link to something but when it comes to the actual script that randomizes it?

But hey if it works it works and sometimes things just work and you have to leave it there. I actually didn’t ask if they made the script or if they found it online but you know what they say, being a programmer is mostly knowing what to google. Which takes me to the fact that as it currently stands I don’t know what to google just yet and that’s kind of the one thing holding me back at the moment, it’s probably the big difference between skilled programmers and me (or one of the big differences), turns out knowing what to google is a whole skill of its own to learn. So I’ll probably still need my hand held. :^) But not in the snow.

Anyways basically all of this means that my webcomics page is LIVE!!!!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD

Currently, to start off it hosts 3 of my webcomics, all in the MSPA format, but if you know me you know there’s like 5 other comics I’m yet to upload there. Particularly Jailbreak^2 but particularly Jailbreak^2 is particularly complex in its code which makes it particularly not so easy to port (Webcomics with complex code, what a world we live in). I’ll be adding more stuff soon but jeah, Jailbreak^2 might take a second! But apart from that, YES! Using this script means the pages are pre-loaded, no loading 800mb images every time you go to a page.

Also I’m an atheist so I don’t believe FlaringK is real.
